At the Witherswood Angus Bull sale in April this year Lock had the pleasure of viewing the first drop of Witherswood calves sired by Wattletop Andy C109. The calves had been weaned a month earlier and at 7 months of age Lock believed they were “already showing plenty of growth, frame and muscle.” Witherswood have 21 bulls and 24 heifers from the 2010 drop by Andy. According to Chris Saunders the manager at Witherswood Angus, Andy’s calves averaged 1.36kg/day at weaning ranking him as the second highest sire for weight gain in their 2010 drop calves.
